Photoshop Downloader Mac

I have Photoshop Elements 4 and a Mac. I can't get my pictures to automatically dowload into Photoshop - they go into iphoto. According to most books I've read they should be able to do this automatically. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The setting is in Image Capture Preferences General tab, When a camera is connected, open: choose your app from the drop down list.

as per the last post but more specifically this is (illogically) not a system preference (it really should be) but is, instead, an application in the applications folder...


go to your applications folder find the application "Image Capture.app" open (launch) it - go to the menu item "Image Capture/preferences" in "general/camera" option "when a camera is connected, open" select "other" this will open a navigation window - select the application you wish to use and then the "open" button.
