I am trying to find what photo slide show software that used this canned format for making a slide show. Any help would be appreciated.
It uses an old fashioned slide projector and changes the slide with a click and border like the old 35MM slides.

If you need slideshow for TV playback, try DVD Photo Slideshow,

Hi,
I use ProShow and I love it. They will allow you to use on a trial basis.

I google the DVD Slideshow Builder, and I find it easy to use, it supports all-round video formats. It will help you greatly.

Well, AnvSoft DVD Photo Slide may help and it offer free trial. I use it to make slideshow for my high school class. What makes me like this program is its easy-to-use interface and process design.
You can even dub the slideshow with built-in recorder. What’s more, you can add video clips to the photo slideshow.
You may go to its official website
http://www.anvsoft.com to learn more about it and download the free program
Talk and Photo presentation

I am giving a talk on my travels in the new year, probably January. I want to show some of my photos. I don't want a fancy timed slide show. I want to be able to click a mouse button when it's time to move onto the next slide, so I can talk about each photo and place. No music, no timing between slides etc.
What about Power Point? Is the file size too big?
And the hardware question. Is a cordless mouse the best way to go? Or is there another handheld device? So I can walk and talk.

The last talk I gave I used my own computer with all the images. I had Photoshop and the Bridge software. I just showed the images from Bridge. You can set it to play automatically or under your control. I did not have to resize the images or do anything to them. It was just having a folder with the images in the order I wanted and then View>Slideshow. Easy and fast.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know what the Bridge software is.
I'll be using my work laptop, it doesn't have photoshop on it. (I use Elements)
I do use Picassa to organize. But I was unable to get the slide show under my timing and control, the photos just keep advancing at a specified rate (5 sec.)

I recommend Wondershare Flash Slideshow.
Easy to use, many FX, it's great.
