PS quality not features

Post Mon Feb 05, 2007 4:58 pm

I'm a long term user of Elements 1.0. Yep.

But now a new PC's on its way, and I'm considering upgrades... And my question has more to do with the image quality of the tools rather than a version's feature set.

In other words, has Adobe improved on the quality of their filters and tools. Do the resizing tools, the sharpening tools, the various other doohickies actually work better than in older versions?

Getting an older version of the full PS off e-bay vs. a current Elements 4 or 5, will there be quality differences? Where's the sweet spot today in price vs. capability.

I've managed to do pretty much anything I've wanted (save some layer color separation stuff etc) with my Elements 1.0. Still, I'm curious about the full PS as well as the newest Elements.
thanks in advance, ness

The full version of CS will always be your preference but it depands what you are processing and what for. Personally for the sake of $100 bucks I'd rather buy the latest version of whatever software. There's not many software makers that reduce the capability of their software!!!
