I've gotten close to that using the smart blur feature in Photoshop CS2. Of course there is a process involved which includes the healing feature, sharpening, etc.. And that's just for the skin tone.
I love photoshopography.......

take a look at Portrait Professional at http://www.portraitprofessional.com/index.php
They have a demo and a free demo, for some portraits it works great in seconds with others????

Or you could just learn yourself digital imaging and do it yourself in your editing program, like this example I did in Elements 5 and save some money

Is it just me but aren't the pageantry photos hideous? I think they are way overdone. The natural gallery is better IMO.

One way to smooth the skin is use heavy noise reduction software on a duplicate layer and then paint on the effect - although I think it gives too plasticky a look.

I think the Kodak Digital Airbush software is better but more useful still IMO are the portrait retouching actions from http://www.1clickactions.com as the effect can be toned down to suit the image.

No, it's not just you. They're way overdone.

I agree with the last three posts. The shots have been photoshopped to oblivion and very poorly at that! Looks like the equivalent of using a trowel and plaster instead of Estee Lauder! Retouching should be subtle, but these look like exhibits from Madamme Tussauds...

ditto here.. i get the urge to purge when i see faces done that way.

why not just do the lighting correctly?

i was taught to never use a s/f lens on anything under 30. then only as an optional shot.

retouching is for acne, acne scars, bags under the eyes, the extra reflection in the eyes, little tiny things.

"face sculpting"... yeah... change the last name on the birth certificate too.

soapbox mode off (before is spills)
