Resolution in Digital Photo Professional

Hello,

I use Canon's Digital Photo Professional to process my RAW images. What's the point of the "resolution" specification when saving to JPEG...? Surely all that's important is the dimensions (in pixels) of the image...?

Thanks,

Richard

Dose not changes a lot in the actual file.
If you do the test in PS (photoshop) you file will have the same resolution, but here is the differences

32 DPI vs 320 DPI
Text size in will be a lot smaller (or the other around not sure)
The ruler will have a lot more inch on it (still the picture will have the same amount of point 8.5 million in your case)

I never play with the DPI due to the fact it dose not change your end result.
