Post Sun May 07, 2006 7:46 pm

Hello,

When I scroll the pictures in camera I can see the files of the photos that I take but when I plug the camera to computer I cannot see the files in raw format.
Could anyone please help me ?
Sorry about my write but i'm portuguese and is normal if it have mistakes.

Thanks in advance,

Zef, you need the software to view and edit the raw files you took.
You should have EOS viewer or editing software that came with your camara.
If you have Photoshop CS2 you can view and edit the raw files using Adobe Bridge (built in)

You can also try the free beta version of Abobe Lightroom. It lacks the features of Apple's Aperture, but the RAW processing is way better in Lightroom.

You can also just use the camera raw plugin, which is what I do. For the latest version, go here:

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... ftpID=3364

It gives very good results, and often the defaults it sets for the image will do fine.

To be able to select the image I want to work on (view the thumbnail), I use the utility provided by Microsoft for WinXP:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en

You need an official copy of XP though. Else, you can also download a utility for free:

Hope this helps.

if you can afford it, i suggest using c1 pro or c1 lite...

different raw processors will process the file differently... c1 lite uses the same algorythm as c1 pro, but is cheaper... and it has one of the best algorythms out there...

I had the same problem until I downloaded DNG_Camera_Raw_3_1.
After unzipping, you'll need to run DNG to convert the files and then use the Photoshop Raw to view and edit the files.
