Your "darkroom" workflow?

Hey,

Just wondering, how you guys work your wonders on computer after the picture is taken? Do you use photoshop/something else and what filters you use there?

You know, the usual stuff you do on computer with your pics.

Here's mine (old one)

Capture One
-cropping
-straighten picture
-white balance
-sharpen a bit
-raw -> jpg convert
-Backup on cdr's (done lazily)

And the new one, since i figured i must use photoshop

Capture One
-cropping
-straighten picture
-white balance
-sharpen a bit
-raw -> tiff convert

Photoshop
-Check levels
-Possible color adjustment/saturation
-Possible curves
-tiff -> jpg convert
-Backup on cdr's (done lazily)

So, whats yours? I checked old posts and didnt find discussion/gallup about this.

Great topic. I love to hear what other do.

Here's mine:

I use Capture One with color profiles from http://www.etcetera.cc/pub/ to convert the files

In C1 I fine tune exposure and adjust contrast using
Curves, Levels & CC slider. WB as needed and saturation.
I don't sharpen in camera or when converting (that is always last).
Convert to 16 bitt tiff in Adobe RGB to Photoshop CS.

IF converting to BW, I do so in C1. Levels/Curves/CC slider = great
BW's.

In Photoshop, depending on the pic, I may or may not (but usually do)

Enhance colors, or further work with Curves or Levels.
Dodging/Burning etc.
Any other editing...(straighten, clean up blemishes etc)

Save finished Tiff "master" file.

Then
Crop (sometimes I'll have done this already, but often it's best to leave the original file as is).
resize
sharpen
Convert (jpeg, 8 bits, sRGB)

Eventually I'll go through the tiff file and batch convert them all to HQ JPEGS and delete (most if not all) the tiffs.

I use a lot of PS Actions to automate repetitive stuff
