Hi,

When I post pictures on pbase I always use "save for web" in photoshop cs. Sometimes this produces unwanted side effects. For example look at the sky in this picture:

The sky in the original picture looks normal. The output quality I use is 10. Is there any setting I could use to make this look better?

Thanks,

Marc

Quality 10 should be OK (Save for web should not do anything but screw up the EXIF). Quality 8 should even be good enough.

My guess is you are being bit by the sRGB vs AdobeRGB issue. Try viewing your original picture in your web browser. If it now looks bad then you need to convert the color space.

Try this post for more info http://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... light=srgb

In the SAVE AS menu, quality is from 0-12.

You are using the SAVE FOR WEB menu you said. Quality in THAT menu is from 0-100, in THAT menu you need to use at least 70 to get a decent image, 80 is better.

Try that and you will see the sky looks much better.
