Renaming files

Hi,
Yesterday I took about a hundred shots of a local school for their new prospectus. (I think they only chose me as I said I'd do it for free.)
The photos are what they want and they are pleased with the results.
In an attempt to make back some costs on the exercise I have said I would offer the parents the chance to buy copies of them.

I'd like advice on two things:-

Is there an easy way to rename all the files from 1 to 100?

Can I print, say, 5 small shots on a sheet of A4. With the number of the print beneath?

Thanks, in anticipation

Moggo

1) For renumbering:
Couple of ways .. Photoshop CS/CS2 has this built in
Pick up exifer (http://www.exifer.friedemann.info/ ) or a similar tool.

You can also find a lot of renumbering tools on http://www.nonags.com

2) Contact sheets:

A lot of tools allow this.. If you have a Canon printer it comes with Easy-Photoprint, Photoshop (Automate menu Contact Sheet), Picassa (Free from Google), IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/ )

Thanks very much,
I should have said that I'm using PE3. I'll give exifer a go and see how I get on.
I've never used that Easy-Photoprint software, I'd forgotten I had it.

Cheers for the assistance.

PS3 in the Organizer can do contact sheets...

Select the pictures then do a print .. Go to type of print and select "Contact Sheet"

PS3 in editor (File ->Browser) can batch rename files (check the help for details of the steps). It's really easy.

Hi there,
I'm new here but I just have to recommend this program called Name and Property Modifier for renaming files: http://www.download.com/Name-and-Property-Modifier/3000-2248_4-10404045.html?tag=lst-0-4
You can also see more screenshots and informatino about it by visiting their website http://www.magnonic.com/npm.htm

It can rename files, folders, MP3s, WMAs AND convert between a ton of different image formats. The file renamer has so many options, I wouldn't even know where to begin describing it.. but it does have the file increment you wanted.... but yea, take a look at it, might be what you're looking for. 8)

O yea, you can also use the EXIF tags of digital camera images for renaming files!
