Any easy cropping software?

Post Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:54 pm

Is there any photo editing software that allows one to easily crop photos to popular aspect ratios, such as 4 x 5, 8.5 x 10, or 3 x 4? So far, I've only used some programs that came with some digital cameras, and with them all cropping is by trial-and-error. Specifically, I'm looking for something cheaper than PhotoShop.

Thanks.

The Gimp is way more cheaper than Photoshop. As a matter of fact it is 100% cheaper. ;-)
Gimp means GNU Image Manipulation Program. And, as you can read in the project main page:
It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

I´m not sure if that´s what you´re looking for, but then...

PhotoResampling can prepare your photo for printing:
you can fix the cropping areas depending on printing size and resample depending on printer driver PPI using a lot of algorithms.

For a demo download go to http://www.photoresampling.com

Picasa is free and extremely well designed. It would be my favourite tool if it offered more control over the correction functions and a slightly better RAW support

cropit.exe is by far the easiest. point it at a folder and it opens every image, allowing you to crop to 3x2 ratio; and save at any JPG %.

google cropit.exe
