preview of raw images in windows

I scanned the pre-existing topics but didn't see anything related to this. Sorry if I'm asking a question which has already been answered. Does anybody know if there is a plug-in or application which would allow me to preview raw images in windows explorer?
Just wanted to add that I'm working with Nikon NEF files.

I think irfanview will do that for you but don't forget to install all plugins for it. I don't know about Nikon but it work for Canon. BTW it's free for home use.

I have heard that there is an update for windows that allows you to view raw in windows explorer
I have not tried it I don't even know where to find it. it was suggested to me by a frieind but I don't need it as I am using Nikon view
