KM DiMage Scan Elite II Question...

Hello all...

I have a bit of a hitch with my new Konica Minolta DiMage 5400 Scan Elite II scanner.

From time to time, the computer will scan images very slowly (takes 5 minutes to scan an image at 2000 dpi/negatives/Pixel Polish, ICE, GEM activated). I find this most strange as the scanner and computer will scan images without a hitch with the same settings in as little as 35 seconds when the computer and scanner are having a "good" day (again, there is no rhyme or reason as to why it scans "normally" one day and "slowly" the next).

Any explanation for this? Is this a problem with the software? Is this a problem with the driver talking to both the computer and the scanner? Is this a problem with my OS (Windows XP)?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the older dual scan and I also have a canon 9950. 5 minutes does not sound unusual. Both scanners have different scan times with different slides. Sometimes it'll take me longer, I think it really depends on the information that is contained in the neg/slide.
