Hi everybody. 1st post.
I'm having great problems scanning neg and positive 120 film with my Epson RX 500, 35mm no problem! Does anyone know the best settings to use? The negs have good quality images but when I put the film on the scanner most of the time I can only just make out the image. Sometimes I get a white band running along the bottom of the neg, most of the time if I do get an image it is very grainy. I am using old cameras(Coronet Rapide,Zenit-E, Fed-4 or my Holga so I do expect a few imprefections!) mostly but as I said the negs look fine. Any help would be great. I'll check back in a couple of days when I return from visiting my parents in Mid Wales.

Many thanks for all your replies!
My wife figured it out for me, if anyone has the same problems make sure the neg isn't on the edge of the scanner. You need some light to get through before the scanner sets it's own levels. If the neg is on the edge of the plate you will get as I did a black stripe instead of the images you want.
Maybe next time you'll be able to help me!
