July 2012 PAD - Melodic Memories

Post Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:12 pm

July's monthly challenge is all about Song Titles. We will explore 40 years of music and let the song titles be our inspiration.

There are plenty of titles to choose from and to start you off, I'm providing some links (thanks, Stephanie!) for each decade. Please note that there are many other songs from each decade that you are free to choose. These are only suggestions.

Days 1-7: Music of the 50's http://www.popculturemadness.com/Entertainment/Decades/50s-Music.html
Days 8-14: Music of the 60's http://www.popculturemadness.com/Entertainment/Decades/60s-Music.html
Days 15-21: Music of the 70's http://www.popculturemadness.com/Entertainment/Decades/70s-Music.html
Days 22-28: Music of the 80's http://www.popculturemadness.com/Entertainment/Decades/80s-Music.html

Days 29-31...your choice of song

A few rules/guidelines for the challenge:

July's images don't have to be taken on a strictly daily basis. Neither do they have to be posted on the same day as they were taken. The only stipulation is that 31 photos corresponding to 31 be covered and posted some time during the month. They have to be taken within the month and not taken prior unless, of course, it is a day or two before when we posted the possible challenge.

PLEASE DO NOT DIP INTO YOUR ARCHIVES, THE PURPOSE OF THIS CHALLENGE IS TO SEEK OUT IMAGES AND TAKE PHOTOS.

Don’t forget to leave comments for other participants in the challenge. No posting only please, the challenge is about having fun and camaraderie, and to learn from other participants, so check out the images other participants post and comment on at least some of them.

Good luck everyone! Let your imagination run free, and let's ROCK ON!! Looking forward to seeing everyone's photos this month!

Hi, thanks for coming up with this idea Brenda, I like that challenge!

The only thing is that, I cannot remember any songs from he fifties, because I was too little by then, but the sixties have been my time, so I like to concentrate on this decade with my participation this month.

# 1 From the icon in this time!

Hope you don't mind, but I picked my own 4 decades, because I don't care for music from the 50s and 60s and 70s. I prefer current music to old. If I'm going to listen to oldies, it will be classical because I love Baroque 1650 - 1720 and Italian opera too. :)

My July Musical Challenge will cover -

Days 1-7: Music of the 80s
Days 8-14: Music of the 90s
Days 15-21: Music of the 00s
Days 22-28: Music of the 10s

Days 29-31...my choice of songs

I will participate in this nice and inspiring theme.
I will use the music titles I have on my I-Pod, which covers all the different styles. (well almost)
And to all I have memories
This is my first one, a Celtic song

I'm going to take a stab at this challenge ........ but I just can't go with the restrictions of all those different decades. So I'm just going to post photos and song titles ....... regardless of when ever they came out and/or were popular. Hope that's OK with Y'all.

Here's the first one ......

I decided I would do my personal Country Music Hall of Fame this month, as I like this kind of music very much :)
The first song - "Hey Good Lookin'" - is a 1951 song written and recorded by Hank Williams, and his version was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.
Since its original 1951 recording it has been covered by a variety of artists.
