Walter, I too appreciate your efforts.

I just sent aldeca a Pbase message and an e-mail.

Hopefully either aldeca or Emilly can get the ball rolling again.

Thanks John. Maybe aldeca can post the next competition now. It's been two weeks...

Can't you just write straight to the second place winner?

I did write to the second place winner when it became clear that the first place winner didn't want to do the next contest. I have just written to him again. In fairness to him, he may have seen that he didn't win the last contest and could be in Bora Bora taking pictures right now. Several of us have written to Emily (including me) and it might be good if others could as well.

How about the third place winner coming up with a topic for the 477th S&T and doing it manually (i.e. create a topic as you normally might)?

I am not in Bora Bora :), just was waiting patiently for a link to post a new contest. I can confirm that I don’t have this link up to date.
I received a message from Ken today suggesting to post a new contest manually. I am not sure if this is a correct way to fix the problem.
As I understand a contest posted manually will not be locked automatically. A winner of this contest will need to be posted manually as there will be no link to post winners as well as the next winner will need to post their contest manually again.
I am not very technical person, so before creating more problems, I would like to hear more opinions if we should write more emails to Emily and wait until she will create a new link or post a new contest manually.

Posting an S&T Competition manually removes the framework used for picking and announcing the next winner, keeping track of old competitions, etc. This was done before and created a real mess. I would advise strongly against doing this.

As it is now been two weeks since Emily was contacted, the easiest way to resolve this is for the original winner to post then next competition. It would only take five minutes or so and would keep the ball rolling.

Walter

I messaged winner...perhaps others will also. They are able to take time to post a photo daily...so cannot imagine them not having time to post a contest.

Should this be finally said in English: If you are not prepared to host a comp, do not submit you photos.

I messaged the winner as well as leaving comments, no response...very inconsiderate & rude of him not to respond. Left a message to that effect today after being ignored for several days and having polite comments / pleas for him to start the contest.
