Many thanks for remarkable entries.
I did not realize until today, how hard is the process of judging.
I was especially mindful of the fact that the person judging also gets judged in the process of picking the winning entries.
Here are some honourable mentions in no particular order.
This is a lovely shot by Markus. The alley and stairs well framed by the Arch. Love the angle and light control.
A beautiful picture by John, considering the issue of dealing with dynamic range here. A great angle and depth here.
Very nicely done. This image by LUXUN 54 of a Venezia alley comes out well with reflections and the bridge at the end.
Very well done Terry. You really caught the twilight sky and the night lights remarkably with long exposure and DOF.
Beautiful shot by Robin that got my attention right away.
THIRD PLACE WINNER
A beautiful shot by John of this Chicago alley. Great angle and DOF here. The HDR works extremely well here.
Congratulations John on this beautiful entry.
SECOND PLACE WINNER
Congratulations Chris on this beautiful image of Lucca with a great depth, shot at f20 and very appropriately processed.
The color, angle, light all add wonderfully. It definitely evokes a feeling. I just wish it was a bit bigger.
FIRST PLACE WINNER
This photograph by Marisa is my favorite. It is brilliantly composed.
It makes me feel as if I am there with the walls rubbing against my shoulder.
The brilliant color and reflections are I guess a result of masterfully handled exposure and metering.
It is hard to get an eyeful of this photograph in one glance.
Congratulations Marisa.
