This photograph of Bartosz's has been one of my favorites for a few years. To me this is what wide angle work is all about, having an interesting subject in the foreground that also compliments the rest of the photograph. Great colors, texture and overall balance of this image made it a winner for me. Congratulations Bartosz!

Thank you for the 3rd place. Interesting what made the cut, images with foreground and background subjects of similar interests/intensity and complimentary shapes/colours.
Love learning from these contests. I thought wide angle shots where more about negative spaces and although they can be, I like this approach better.

Many thanks for the HM and Second Place, and congratulations to all the winners and to all who submitted images for the Competition. As I enjoy architectural photography very much I really liked the theme you chose Terry, and I enjoyed looking at the variety of images that were submitted. A lot of people think that architecture should not be photographed using wide lenses. I disagree. I used a 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye for the escalator image and a 14-24mm f/2.8 @ 14mm on a full frame for the Getty image.
Regards,
Walter
