Centralia, PA coal mine fire

A coal mine fire, ignited in 1962, has been burning away in Pennsylvania.

It has resulted in the destruction of the town of Centralia, where many hundreds of families had resided until about 1980.

Thanks for the pics, and the story. Wow it is hard to believe that a fire can burn for that long. I thought it was a typo at first.
