Eliminating redundant CSS classes

Greetings, quick questions:

Can anyone tell me whats the use of the following CSS classes:

".lid", ".sb", "input"

I did not see any changes when I removed those but maybe I missed something. I want to remove any classes that are not used in the HTML space.

On doing a search in the forums, the only time I saw them was when someone was dumping their CSS code.

I asked a similar question some time ago were I gave a long list of classes from CSS that I had no idea what they do. I did not get many answers but from the theory I know that Slug could use one of these classes in the future so they should be defined in a block definition

Hi Ilan, I read through your previous thread. Webdev had given the right answer in terms of most of the tags are HTML/CSS tags and one may do a View->source and see how various classes affect different parts.

To aid you, Ive taken a snapshot of my thumbnails page and my image page and marked in red the classes that control relevant parts.

The list is not complete - it only lists the classes that I consider important. With respect to what more generic classes like 'div' etc do, its best to read any HTML guide.
