problem displaying thumbnails and pictures?

I'm currently unable to see any pictures in my galleries, though thumbnails show up ok. I have the same problem in most other people's galleries, though in some I can't see thumbnails but can open pictures. When I display random photos on the 'galleries' page I usually see thumbnails, but again can't open most images in full size.

I'm using Mozilla as a browser. The problem is worse in IE -- the delay is much longer before I see anything, provided it even does display.

I'm surprised to see no one else complaining already. Is this a problem on my end?
