Gallery Security settings

Post Wed Apr 16, 2014 8:25 pm

The Gallery Security settings are a mess in my opinion. If I only want to remove a gallery from public view, but do not want to add a password to it, it seems the password from another gallery with a password is added to this one automatically... What gives? Contrary to the rest of the interface, it's not user-friendly at all.

One speculative thought: is the gallery in question a sub-gallery of one with a password? It seems in general a sub-gallery inherits the configuration of the parent gallery unless it is manually changed. I haven't tangled with passwords, so I can't claim any first hand experience specific to them.

There are a few old threads related to unwanted passwords, maybe one of these will help.
