Can you embed YouTube videos in the description?

I would like to embed a YouTube video on my main gallery page, as well as several individual galleries. I've tried to copy and paste the embed code on YouTube and it does not work. I tried the embed code on the caption of an image and that works fine, but I need the video in the description.
Any help?

I have been using the YouTube embedded code for quite a while with no problems. The show and play both. Check all of your default settings to make sure something is not set to prevent this.
