Unfortunately still does not work. Can't geotag since I can't even select the galleries other than the ones at the root level. Selecting individual photos to geotag gives me the same flickr for a second and then the map goes blank.

We are continuing to work on this. If you experience problems, could you please include your browser and version in your post in case it's a browser-specific issue.

Thanks,
Emily

Geotagging of images now seems to work properly---thank you! However, there are two odd things going on related to the display of images from icons (red teardrops) once they are geotagged.

The first issue is the width of the little info box that pops up when a person clicks on a geotag icon (the little red teardrop). For some images the width is normal, but for others it is much too wide. This problem seems to be attached to certain images: some images have the problem but others do not, and it does not go away with repeated clicks on the image icon. The problem applies to certain images whether or not they are in a cluster. I have at least two clusters in which one image is affected, and the other is not.

The second issue is related to the display of the “cluster” tab when clicking on a cluster (violet) icon. The first time I click on a cluster icon, the info box displays the “cluster” tab. If I then click on a non-cluster icon, close that info box, and click on the cluster icon again, the info box displays the “image” tab rather than the “cluster” tab. Shouldn’t the cluster tab be displayed every time a cluster icon is clicked?

Maybe you need to clear your browser cache? Sometimes older cached copies of messed up scripts can keep showing up unless explicitly eradicated.

That's the best I can suggest.

Just tagged half a dozen images, working fine. Plus the improvements include homing in on my territory rather than starting in the middle of the south Atlantic Ocean and street view. I would argue those with issues need to look a little closer to home. My browser is Chrome.

The “View map” function is broken again (maybe it was broken earlier when I thought it was fixed). I use Firefox and Windows XP Home Edition all the time and I let Firefox remember my password. I also post photos to Flickr and Panoramio and have no map problems there. I regularly use the free version of CCleaner on my hard drive. For this report I tested the “View map” link with one of my images: http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/153965409 and used Firefox and Internet Explorer. Clearing Firefox’s cache has made no difference. The image is mapped to this location: http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=41.43 ... 4&z=15&m=b .

Using PBase with Firefox 26.0 (I let my browser remember my password):
A. When logged in to PBase, I get the normal, correct view of a red photo icon at the top of a mountain summit in northwestern Utah. The icon remains intact when I zoom in and it displays the photo correctly. However, after doing that, if I zoom out, all icons in that area disappear and only re-appear if I refresh the screen.

B. When logged out of PBase, I get a world map with two photo icons, one red and one light green. The red one is located correctly at Wiesbaden Army Air Field in Erbenheim, Germany (just outside of Wiesbaden). The icon remains intact when I zoom in to see in detail where the photo was taken and it displays an image properly. After doing that and zooming out, the icon remains intact and functioning. The other icon is light green, appears incorrectly in southwestern Idaho, and is labeled “100+” When I zoom in, the icon disappears.

Using PBase with Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 (I do not let the browser remember my password):
C. When logged in to PBase, I get a world map with no photo icons.
D. When logged out of PBase, I get a world map with no photo icons.

When I use Firefox, am logged in to PBase, and click on the “View map” link of someone else’s photo, I get a world map similar to example B above, except the icons are in England (where he lives and his photos were taken) and in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa (a place he has never been).

What a mess.

The Geotagging is still not working. When I click on Geotag photos on my map, it takes me to my root galleries. When I try to navigate to my sub-galleries it doesn't do it any longer.

What's a "browser cache"?

Most web browsers that I am aware of maintain a local copy of pages that they download. If you go back to that same page later, the browser gets enough info to see if the file online is still of the same time stamp. If the same it will use the local ("cache") copy to save download time. Sometimes even the time stamp changing appears not to trigger a fresh download (this could also be due to the way the browser is configured). In such a case, a script error in a page downloaded a week ago might still be in play unless you force a reload.

In Firefox, under 'Tools' then 'Options' then 'Advanced' there is a 'Network' tab where there is a section about cached web content and a button to clear it. Internet Explorer has some similar facilities but uses the term "temporary Internet files." Other browsers I am not acquainted with, but would expect similar features.

I freely admit to a severe lack of ability/knowledge of the workings of computers. What's a firefox? It sounds like something out of "Thunderbirds",back in the good old days.I thought I understood that. Please can you keep answers simple as I don/t go into programs/sections/catches as I don't understand such.Thanks.
