Thank you for replying Emily. Communication is so important, and uncertainty is very uncomfortable to say the least. I think you have a great group of loyal subscribers on this site who would like to be kept in the loop.

Best Wishes,

Walter

I agree with Walter but I hope you improve the Communication on the front end.
Most of us know you are working on the problem but a quick reply that you are aware of the issues and striving to correct them would help.

The Communication helps some people feel warm a fuzzy that you care about their concerns.
Thanks for the effort Emily many of us do appreciate it.

I have the feeling that Pbase is already falling into old habits.
I've asked many times to Pbase (first time almost 6 weeks ago..) when I can expect to get the mail system back, but still not an answer...

Will this be in a day, a week, a month, a year? "We're working to resolve it" is to vague for me.
Please give me some serious feedback and a time frame!

After about a week of smooth sailing, today I can't access my profile page. It attempts for about a minute and then...

Problems with creating thumbnails again. Took half an hour to generate a thumbnail for an image I uploaded.

and yet...

emily wrote:Hello Everyone,

We know that there have been issues of slowness with the site recently. We were working on tracking down the source of the problem, which turned out to be amazingly well hidden. The symptoms couldn't really point us in the right direction, but we finally found the source of the slowness and resolved the problem. Everything is definitely looking better from our end. We hope that you are all seeing the same improvement.

We will communicate better about issues like this in the future.
Thank you for your patience.

Same here tonight, been going on for some time . . . . they will probably be looking into the problem when their tech person checks in, maybe in a week or two . . .

Concerning my question (about the mail system) I got this reply.

Hello Tim,
I don't have a timeline when it will return. That completely depends on
our administrator. If I am able to get that information, I will pass it
along.
Thanks,
Jehan

Seems like there is only one admin working for Pbase. Amazing...
I didn't dare to ask if he/she works full time at Pbase...

where to go from here? and how can we move all out pics easily?

my concern is that if pbase is going down they should have a tool where we can copy back ours pics to our hard drives easily instead of doing them one by one

don't you simply save them in a folder titled "web" on your computer and backup drives?

I've created an account at 500px to check that out...

No answer from Pbase concerning my questions (first time asked last week of January and after that asked for an update numerous times)...
