Pbase is in better shape than a number of people seem to think. One analytics website puts Pbase's average daily number of people---visitors, not visits---at between 135K and 250K for the past six months. Traffic per month averaged 4,355,247 people who made 7,269,514 visits. Pbase must be doing something right.

Somehow it seems unlikely that Piclens will be moved to the top of the Pbase priority list on the strength of a limited number of people threatening to leave.

Where do you get these statistics from? Just curious.

Let's see...last September, right?

It was probably Quantcast http://www.quantcast.com/pbase.com#traffic, or possibly Alexa http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traff ... /pbase.com

When looking at the stats, it's helpful to bear in mind that Pbase has an annual cycle. We will have been at a different place along that cycle in September 2008 than we are now. Typically, things begin to pick up in May, with June and July being among the heaviest months, then again around the holidays.

Very interesting. Thank you very much for the links to these two sites.

I remembered this thread after finding that on another photo site, that the only good way to view multiple photos on individual pages, or to do slide shows, was with Cooliris (piclens)...to me it has very mixed blessings. Photos 800 X 600 or less, or saved at low quality (or compressed by a site), which many people do to prevent theft, look awful when blown up with Piclens (pixelated, artifacts, etc.)...unless I'm doing something wrong. It works neat on another site I've got a few pics on, that are saved at a higher quality and at 1200 X 800 - but then again these photos if someone wanted them, would be much more subject to theft. Also some sites are allowing it to be turned on to review (and blow up) thumbnails, which in some cases can't even be recognized as photos when viewed in that regard (I wouldn't want mine seen like that) .So I've really got mixed feelings about this plug in. It seems to me that many gains are almost always balanced by losses.
