Out of curiosity what is about the Search feature that just can't be fixed? Sometimes it works as intended yet more often not it fails.

Its nothing new either as this has gone on since I became a member here in 2005 _ :|

I have the same question.
This always happens to me.
Surely there is a photo of a water buffalo, any buffalo, in here ........somewhere???

I'm amazed too by how often the search function fails or works inadequately. You'd think this would be a top priority. Is it any wonder why Pbase is losing out so badly to flickr?

First, my qualifier statement - PBase should fix search as a top priority.

Having said that, you can use Google to do a site search. Open up a Google search window, copy and paste the following.

water buffalo site:http://pbase.com

Here is a clickable search set up for water buffalo
http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&o ... Fpbase.com

You can add additional words to reduce the hits, just put them before or after water buffalo. You can also go into Google's advanced search and add or modify parameters.

Thanks for the Google how to. Even reason more you'd think the owners of PBase would fix this probelm. Having to use an alternative means of using a feature we pay for _

You're right of course. There have been changes and improvements, more so since the new programmers joined PBase. Search should be high on the list of priorities of things to correct. A lot of sites use Google as their search engine, it should be relatively easy to work out an agreement and embed it into PBase.

Well it seems to be working better now. So I ask was something actually done our did the system fix itself as we are led to believe? - :|

STILL BROKEN _ why on earth can't this be resolved? If it ain't gonna be fixed then why not just do away with the option altogether.
