Nothing....when slug returns from the holidays he will be working on it. There is 6 threads reporting the trouble now. When he gets back he will be address the troubles, I promise. Until then, go take some pics or something.

Hi Don!

This is irritating though, not to have one's pictures show up, so have you got any more info that you can share with us on what is going on? Do you know that Slug and his gang are away, and if so have you also any information of when they will be back and take care of this problem.

Hey Zevs, nice to see you around here today. Anyway, I read one of slug's posts just before christmas stating theat he was headed out for the holidays. This is what I know. Plus this type of problem is usually fixed very quickly if slug was around from what I have seen.

I get bummed myself at the stinking x's. I used to get really ticked off when I had embeds scattered all around the net. Now I just roll with the punches though. Things like this usually don't happen very often so I am just hoping slug gets back soon.

BTW...those last couple galleries you are working on are pretty hot stuff.

Hope Slug will fix the problem soon, seems it must be a server that is down or something. My pics seems to be OK, but I have a friend who feels bad about hers not showing up since she has sent links to people.

btw .. your new galleries for sure are hot too and colorful as always!!!

Same deal here, as I've noticed several photos don't show up anymore. They look okay in the thumbnail mode, however. It always happens when you need Pbase the most... sigh...

I'm having trouble with some pics too. On this gallery, one of the thumbnails doesn't show and the empty box takes the whole screen.

Trying to go to the URL of the picture I get an error saying the picture contains errors. I thought that was the only picture, but now I've discovered several others in my galleries with errors. Please tell me I'm not going to have to re-upload them.

You may not have too. Just wait until slug gets back to see. If you can't wait then I guess you will have to re-upload. I would not re-upload until slug gets back though if you do not want to deal with the x factor.

Nobody knows exactly when slug will get back.

If it were me, I would wait until after the holidays and the crew is back.

Right now, I am ignoring the problems in my galleries. When I know that Slug and crew have returned and cleaned up things, I will redo what I have to.

As has been said many times in the past few days, this is really a good site. I think the problems we are having lately are just an unfortunate conjunction of the stars and the fickle finger of fate.

Just like everything else you should have backups of your stuff on PBase. Mine are sorted into folders witht he same names as I use on my galleries. If things turn sour I can zip em and upload them.

...and don't forget to brush your teeth before bed..

What do you do with your metadata? Maybe I expect too much, but I am relying solely on Pbase to backup all my data. To me, the hit count is more important to me than anything else, as I can’t recreate that.

Looking into one of the feature requests, I've found that zipped download an entire gallery feature is among them. I hope that feature will include the metadata in XML, and we will have someway to restore a gallery ourselves.
