JPG compression set to 6?

Post Tue Dec 30, 2003 5:09 pm

It seems that the photos in my Pbase galleries show that all of the JPG's have been saved with JPG image quality of "6". I know this is not true as the majority of my saves were at a higher quality.

Is this info saved in the EXIF section of the JPG by Photoshop? I'm using Photoshop 6.0 if that makes any difference.

Thanks,
Neil

JPEG at 6

Mine shows the same thing...

This program
http://www.exifer.friedemann.info/

Allows you to see all the exif data (I use it to save/recover the data between sessions on non-exif aware programs).

According to it (at least for my pictures) 6 is the compression ratio for the JPEG thumbnail embedded in the picture (not for the picture itself).
