Deleting images doesn't really delete the image!

I had a couple of pictures that I linked to in another forum. I deleted the images from my gallery, but they are still showing up in the forum I linked them to.

The images don't show up in my gallery, but if I paste the URL to the image, it's still there. How can I permanantly delete an image?

Just hang on, it will take a bit before it is removed from the server. Don't worry, it will be gone soon though.

It's been over 48hrs and they're still there. How long does it usually take?

Embedded images are copied to another server. I am not sure exactly how much longer, but they will disappear soon from that server.
