Nudity on PBase

It's really sad when society is more accepting of violence then nudity. Petty human jealousies and moral ineptitude is what it all comes down to. The world is trying too hard to shelter everyone from each other and it's a very sad thing.

I understand the sensitivity for some with regard to nudity, but I can never find it within myself to condone filtering or other enforced means of separating content. In my view, the work shown here is for the advancement of our individual communication of art.
I'm also of the opinion that few children under the age of reason are that interested in a photography site. If there are of an interest sufficient to understand the machinations of uploading files, writing HTML and so on, they're probably old enough that a nude shot is not going to be a big deal and they will have already seen much more on some other site.

I, for one, would vote with my wallet and leave Pbase if any type of mandatory filtering were to be inflicted. (not that I want to, I love the convenience of this site!)

The gallery will remain Public. I have however added a warning that it may contain nudity and moved the images (bar one - and there are only two as of todays date) to a gallery within the gallery. I have mixed feelings about this - the warnng could serve the very purpose of making other *more* inquisitive and lead them to the images.

To make the gallery private would be an act of unecessary self-censorship in my view. Whilst I agree there have to be guidelines and limits, there is nothing indecent in the naked human form standing in a normal non-sexual pose.

This is the last I will have to say on the subject. I feel no need to justify myself any more than I have done.
