Replace multiple images with newer version of same

Would be nice to be able to upload a zip file that would replace by name images that exists on pbase with those contained in the zip file.

Currently, if you upload a zip file that contains images with the same name, they get duplicated on pbase

Isn't it enough to delete the images and then upload the zip?

Deleting the existing images and uploading the new versions is not an option as that would mean I would loos all the description text etc that has been entered manually. Those comments would have to be re-entered if you deleted the images and uploaded them over again in another zip file.

As of now pbase does not support multiple image replacements. So it is either a manual one by one replace or delete-upload-loose-comments options that are available.

That bad part is the idiot factor.
People reset image counts on their cameras and give pictures the same name like aunt sue. The less fast interface keeps the less expereince user from hammering their galleries and loosing their photos. And before you try the backed up theroy, how many people that we called experenced still don't back on multiple places and verify the whole cd?

Out of personal curosity why do you have to replace so many photos to make a zip upload useful?
