increased storage: 400MB per credit

Post Mon Jun 05, 2006 8:47 pm

Hi.
On May 1st, we increased your storage to 400MB per credit.
This means for the basic $23/year plan, you now have 400MB to work with instead of 300MB.

In 2003 the limit was 100MB/credit but we made a similar increase in 2004 and 2005. We hope to be able to continue this trend of increasing the storage quota without having to increase price.

Another reason for the increase is in preparation for printing services which should be ready very soon. Hopefully this week. There will be more details to follow when this feature is ready.

So please take more photos and enjoy the increased space.

cyrilp.
A better statistic option?
Good idea. I'll ask Emily to create this immediately.
Check back here in this news forum later today for a complete announcement :)

alexphotos - we plan to have the option to let anyone buy your photos. initially though, it will be set up for only you. Once we're satisfied that the system is working well, we will expand it.

Thnx a lot for the increase in storage!!! And for offering us a quality constantly improving service!!

And thnx a lot for full statistics!! They look very nice!!
Here is one link where you could probably fish for the ideas of further improving
http://www.webstats4u.com/s?tab=1&link=3&id=4015393

They have a very nice graphical solution to show where the viewers are from. And very detailed info's like what country and city they come from, what browser and OS they use. Especially this with browser could be usefull because there are some issues with some CSS's with some browsers. I have the problem that i see one results with my Mozilla only to find out later that it looks cut off in IE...

Anyways, Thanks a lot once more!!! ... for caring for us, your subscribers :) ...
would be cool if you develop stats watch further

thanks for the extra 100 :D
gas prices keep going up faster than any of my annual raises lol so its costing me more to go to work each day.
but here you keep getting more.

Can you explain the printing service a bit more?

I print all my own work. I noticed that even webshots (which I still have some older pics on) is set up that if you are on someones friends list, they can buy your photos, but of course the printing company gets the money and not you.

So I just want to be sure that it will be set that I can decide if I want people to buy my photos directly from PBase
not they can buy just because I have them on my favorites list :)

Wow, printing service is coming!!!!

After spending $$$$ on this expensive hobby, it would be nice to sell some of my photos. :D Not that I hope to make a living out of it, just enough to help paying for a few good lenses my wish list.

I hope that Pbase's printing service will include some high-quality archivable papers/media, such as metallic paper, fine art paper, and canvas. Art collectors want archivable prints and they are willing to pay for the quality, as an accomplished photographer told me.

Thank you, Slug and Emily, for making PBase better and better.

Hum... Now that I´m thinking does this means many of us will be uploading bigger (size & resolution) images?

Thanks in advance
