I am rather new to photographing churches as a main subject.... I have rather basic gear, just got a Nikon D700... I go and find abandoned churches on the prairie with no lighting or anything... Does anyone have technical advice...

Steady the camera with a tripod or setting it on something. Use the timer to avoid shake from your finger. Use a long exposure and low ISO setting.
