I am wondering if anyone has used the Sigma 28-300 and if they like it. I am a wedding photographer and I am looking for a good full range zoom without paying for a Canon L series lens. Thanks!!

You might want to consider the Tamron 18-250 zoom as well (or the current version). I basically have 2 lenses, an 18-250 which I use all of the time, and a 100-400 IS from Canon.

Unless you're using a full frame, the 28 might be not quite wide enough, and you can always crop to get to the difference between 250 and 300 mm.

I shoot with a 5D Mark II, so it's full frame. I always heard that Sigma is the better of the brands for "non-Canon" glass. I will have to read some reviews on it. I might even post on Pbase that I'm looking to purchase one, maybe I might make a sale happen. My only concern is the quality of the prints since I will be using it for weddings.

The Tamron I use is designed around the smaller sensor size, so it wouldn't work (I shoot with a Canon 7D)

Good luck on your hunt
