Shooting a chocolate box cover with raised gold aluminium foil text, on a white background , Target... keeping the gold popping, and the white really white, in one shot, Can it be done. any hints , I'd really appreciate it. Cheers, Robert Woolrich.
Your background could be positioned further away from your lid, separately lit, and deliberately overexposed (overexposed = pure white). Your only challenge now is to light the lid to suit you, soft lighting perhaps from a bounced flash off a white ceiling?
Juts some thoughts off the top off my head, which may or may not prove useful to you (I’m barely out of nappies myself in a photography skill sense though).
I haven't done it before, but if I wanted to do that shot I'd build a light-tent out of polystyrene or some such and then use Ikea angle-poise lamps (about 6 of 'em) to light it; that'll give you a very soft, even light with no harsh sparkly reflections.
