I recently made my first try at photographing out doors in the Pennsylvania winter and encountered several problems. I was using my Dad's Canon AE-1 Program. I had it fog up on me and was having diffculty metering. Does anyone have any advice on winter/cold weather photography, and/or can someone direct me to a good guide?

Condensation can be avoided by placing the camera into a plastic bag, taking it outside and letting it's temp cool down before removing. The condensation will form on the bag instead of the camera. Be sure you have a fresh battery, because freezing temps drain power. You might try keeping the battery warm in your pocket, and put it in after the camera just before shooting. Also, be sure and place the camera back in the bag when you come inside, condensation can cause corrosion. Anytime there's going to be drastic temp changes, it's best to be careful.
Other than this, I'm not sure of much more you can do.
Maybe someone else has other suggestions?
