11x14 in a 16x20 frame.

I've seen other photographers do this, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it's done. This might sound like a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask anyway :).

I've seen some local photogrpahers have a 16x20 picture printed, with an 11x14 in the middle; almost like the matte is in the image.

If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know how.

I think you're just talking about a border? In photoshop you can just make the canvas bigger and fill the extra space in with whatever.

Yes, open the 14x11 image then just add canvas (20x16 - uncheck 'relative').
