Sorry Shannon, I have no experience of either. Fuji seem to be pretty good at compact digitals, and I suppose it depends on your budget.

I used to use a Fuji 2600Z and found the two limitations to be its 100 ISO only capability and its sluggish start-up. But technology has moved on since 4 years ago.

Hi, Shannon,
I am using FinePix S7000. It's similiar to the S5000 model. Mine has 6x optical zoom power and S5000 has 10x. It depends where you are and what you plan to take in the dog show.

You can check my galleries: Sports in Hawaii (taken at a professional beach volleyball tournament, showing action and distance) and Waikiki Hula Show (taken in a low light situation).

I hope this helps.

Shutter delay

Post Sun Oct 03, 2004 6:11 pm

I would research the shutter delay. My little P&S is impossible to use for moving targets becase of the excessive shutter delay.
If the beach volleyball shots of the previous poster are any indication, action can certainly be done with these cameras.

Fuji S700Z

Post Mon Oct 11, 2004 8:00 pm

I am a proud owner of the S7000z and reallly love this camera. I have taken almost 3000 photos since purchasing it in May. My only gripe is that the camera only supports micodrives up to 2 GB. Check out my site at http://www.pbase.com/jazzmech.

I have a fuji S3000

I use the Fuji S3000. The camera is nice. The lens is very high quality. My biggest gripe is the lag between the button push and the image recording. Other that that, it is a fine camera.

Here is my gallery URL if you want to view the images.

Post Tue Dec 07, 2004 11:54 pm

We recently picked up a Fine pix A670? i believe, its a great little camera. I have experience with the S5000, and it was a superb camera, i borrowed it from my friend, and now he is selling it to me! Here is a gallery of pictures i took with it:http://www.pbase.com/phschallenger/fishing_excursion But its got nothing on my 10 and 20D!

Fuji S2 pro user here but I can tell you, I bought the S5000 for my girl friend last year for Christmas, since then it has had a ton of milage from her. Very sturdy lil SLR like shooter. Great images come from this camera! I myself really only like SLRs but if my budget were tight and wanted to go SLR Like, S5000/5100 you will be very happy!

Fujimugs is a great bunch of people, I've been a fuji owner for 2 years (2800). It was fun but I've moved on to something leaps and bounds better a Canon A95, I'm enjoying this camera so much I've started a PAD gallery.

I would visit the forums at http://www.dpreview.com and look up what people say there as well as their great camera reviews.
