This is probably not really a PaD question, but it comes up for me as I browse the PaD galleries. Why do some pictures not appear until they are completely loaded, while others "paint" themselves on my screen as they load. Is this a computer issue, a photo issue, or have I had one too many beers when I look at the pix?

This is image specific. The images that load all at once but at a lower
resolution then gain resolution until complete are either interlaced GIF
or progressive JPG
Image manip. software will allow you to save as
interlacedGIF/progressiveJPG
or non-interlacedGIF/baselineJPG
