Hi Lynn,

Those are great topics.

But I would like to do a more technical challenge.
Possibilities:
- wide angle: use the widest angle lens you have
- tele: use the longest lens you have
- DoF: playing with depth of field

A combination of your topics and a technical challenge is of course a possibility too.
Kind regards
Maaike

A combination of the two would be nice, I like the list and we have the option of using different lenses and settings :D

I prefer Laine's suggestion. After our Robert Frost challenge I'd like something lighter and not so intense, as in the technical shots.
I've found it quite heavy series and was looking forward for March ending!!
Yes, I did enjoy looking for poems to go with my pics - but it was quite a hard month.

I like the idea of some kind of "technique" developing theme. I bowed out this month for lack of time and for wanting to experiment with capturing images using my cell phone. I miss the days when I could focus on bettering my craft with some technical challenge verses a theme. I would vote for this but I understand if the majority prefers another topic.

Thanks for floating the idea out there in time for feedback and input Laine.

I'll go with Laine's list. I don't have lenses to choose from.

I'm all for Laine's list and agree with Janice, Robert Frost was a time consuming challenge. I'd be up for combining with lenses too.

I vote for a combination of Laine's topics and Maaike's technical challenge, a "Technical Scavenger Hunt." :D

----------
So if we did a combination of the two suggestions (Laine's list + technical application), would that mean selecting only one lens type for the entire month?

Or could we us a wide angle on some, telephoto on others, and maybe even a macro here and there? (Which is what I always seem to do anyway, regardless of the selected challenge topic).

I haven't done a challenge for a couple of months and feel like I'm ready to jump in again ....... just want to understand what the rules will be for this one.

Regards,
Janet

A combination of the two would be good, but some don't have other lens.
I do - but I also like to use my point and shoot camera sometimes, and also my mobile camera
So it'll have to be set out very clearly as to what and how we are to do this series.

A long time ago we did "Through a wide lens".
For this challenge we only (!) used the widest angle lens we had. In my case: I only used my Zuiko 7-14 mm, and only at 7 mm.
http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=41178

We can do that again .... or .... we can go the opposite: use the longest. In my case that would be Zuiko 50-200 mm at 200 mm.

When you have only one lens with fixed focus .... well .... you can only use that focus length anyway.

When you have only one lens, but it is a zoom ..... for instance a 14-150 mm, you only use 14 mm when we all go for the widest angle, of 150 mm when we all go for the longest.

I don't mind: widest of longest.

I hope I explained well enough.

Kind regadrs
Maaike
