My 4th. http://www.pbase.com/image/148163021

Thanks for all the good wishes for yesterdays horrible day... we were the lucky ones. Heat reached 45+ Celsius which was rather hot, but no fires broke out near us or in our vicinity. The CFS (country voluntary fire fighters) had 76+ call outs & were kept very busy. Fires are still burning in parts of our state, in Victoria and some really bad ones in Tasmania where many houses have been lost to fire and people rescued - by boat! We are not out of danger yet, but today the temperature has dropped to 31C, but will hike up again tomorrow and stay in around 40 for the week. Thanks again - Von.

Drove to Buffalo today to visit my cousin before she returns to her home in FL (yes, Janet, she's the one near you). I live in Rochester and the winds made driving difficult and tiring but the trip was worth it.

I'll catch up on commenting tomorrow as my bed is calling my name. <yawn>

My #5

Trees in Sepia... :D

Photography was black-and-white or shades of sepia. Color photography was originally rare and expensive, and again often less than true to life.
Black-and-white as a description is also something of a misnomer, for in addition to black and white, most of these media included varying shades of gray.
Further, many prints, especially those produced earlier in the development of photography, were in sepia (mainly to provide archival stability), which gave a richer,
more subtle shading than reproductions in plain black-and-white, although less so than color.
