Sept. 2012 Challenge "Nature Abstracts & Altered Reality"

..its fall coming up and a beautiful time of year. There are many "nature abtracts"! For those folks coming into spring its the same..the beauty of this season!
There is little, even no photoshop necessary to portrait nature and to find the abstraction in a little blur of an golden leaf blown by a gentle warm fall brise.

Everyone knows about the rules to have posted ONLY fresh images taken in the months of september 2012

Have fun !

I found this information about the difference between real abstracts and altered abstracts

Abstract photography is a process of using colours and patterns combined to create an image, with no true meaning or no clear subject involved.
Abstract photography is not necessarily going to mean the same thing to everyone.
Abstract photography leaves more to the imagination and helps us concentrate on texture and colour rather than the whole subject.
Abstract photography is photography, which contains a design of patterns, or shapes where the identity of a subject is not easily evident.

Altered Reality Photography is a unique blending of photography and impressionistic art.
Begun as a Polaroid photograph, the Altered Reality is manipulated using various tools while the surface is still pliable.
Swirls of color and texture transform the realism of the scene to an altered view.
Altered Reality means the alteration of a scene or subject so that it is obviously unrealistic.
The image being altered must have been taken with a camera.
The alteration may be done with an image editor (e.g. Photoshop) or by any other means at the photographer’s disposal, as long as the result depicts a significant deviation from reality.

So just let us go abstract this month in whatever way!

My first contribution to this september challenge
it is an unprocessed macro of an arty glass apple given to me by my tutor, when I finished my social work study (long time ago)

And thank you Boris for starting this challenge

Taken from a dead leaf outside the back door - processed in LR4 to look like a bled ink drawing.

Thank you for starting the Gallery, Boris! Thank you to Mieke for the good interpretations.
I plan to post my interpretation of Altered Reality, which will show some of the Original photo's characteristics. You will be able to guess what it is. :)

Here is my first Entry for this Challenge http://www.pbase.com/lynnh/sept12challenge

AND if you are curious, here is the view of the Original photo.

Not sure how abstract this is but I'm going with it for the first one this month. Not processed except for curves.

Hi folks, it's a long time since I took part in a challenge and I'm going to be a bit rusty but I like the idea of the abstract bit.

There's my first offering.

I am trying to get my brain around it.. I appreciate the lead info 2 posts. The first link shows a lot of great nature shots but "abstract" ..dunno. I can tell what they are, they look like nice macros but to me abstract says something more. The second post I understand better, images that are about color and pattern and are not easily identifable. Altered reality I'm not sure I'm creative enough for but as the month goes I bet you will all teach me! I did do one for green that yes I see was altered reality, maybe I can do more of those. :)

I haven't taken anything yet but I will be back and catch up too. thanks for the new topic!
