WEEKLY INFORMAL CHALLENGE 122: "Landmark Architecture"

Post Fri Aug 10, 2012 2:58 pm

Weekly Challenge: "Landmark Architecture"

The Challenge this week is to submit a photograph of landmark architecture, that is architecture typical of the place where you live, perhaps a well known building or a building style typical of your area. Show us some unique architecture from where you live, and try to make the image as creative as you can with you composition, perspective, processing, etc.

A few simple rules:

1. Themes are posted on Fridays to give you the weekend to come up with a FRESH shot for the challenge to post through Monday.

2. This is about interaction, learning, being challenged and having fun so... HAVE FUN!

3. The themes are specific but interpretations are broad. Stay on theme but PLEASE feel free to think outside the box.

4. Look at others' submissions, comment as moved to do so and offer supportive and constructive feedback. Please don't just post for exposure. Look and at least comment on some.

5. Did we already mention: HAVE FUN!!!

Walter (for Scott and Walter)

Is it to be presented in Black&White only? Or is a mistake in the caption of the subject?

That just got left from the "cut-and-paste" of the challenge two weeks ago. It does not have to be in B&W. I'm sure Walter will edit that out soon. The forum was down most of the morning. There has been a lot of frustration trying to post the challenge this week.

Sorry guys. I corrected it. When I posted the challenge earlier, the forum went down. I had no chance to proofread it. Anyway, post your architecture in colors or black and white. Most importantly, have fun! :D

Grabbed one before heading home to the country for the weekend. This is pretty much Old Nashville as it gets. Most of Nashville is an even mix of old brick architecture and contemporary high rises.

I don't know if you can classify a lighthouse as "architecture" but this one is definitely a landmark!

I'll play this weekend. This is a perspective shot of the columns lining the front porch of Hampton Plantation near Mclennanville, SC.

I can barely move this week-end, i have badly hurt my back (fragile since my birth...).
So, i will submit this pic taken last January that many of you already saw: http://www.pbase.com/ckoi7lumiere/image/141217908 of the landmark of Montréal, the city where i was born. This is the mast of the Olympic stadium tower, summer Olympics of 1976... Few other pictures in the gallery are available to appreciate the futuristic architecture of the late '70s Olympic Stadium: http://www.pbase.com/ckoi7lumiere/mtl_ostadium Thanks for your visit!
