WEEKLY CHALENGE 114: "Symmetry"

Weekly Challenge: "Symmetry"

Sometimes you just have to forget about the rule of thirds, and just plop your focus dead center, just because it works. Symmetry can come at a price; some may say it’s not interesting enough or even boring. Don’t listen to that. Subjects that work well with symmetry are landscapes and flora. I think it works well with some architectural subjects as well.

A few simple rules:

1. Themes are posted on Fridays to give you the weekend to come up with a FRESH shot for the challenge to post through Monday.

2. This is about interaction, learning, being challenged and having fun so... HAVE FUN!

3. The themes are specific but interpretations are broad. Stay on theme but PLEASE feel free to think outside the box.

4. Look at others' submissions, comment as moved to do so and offer supportive and constructive feedback. Please don't just post for exposure. Look and at least comment on some.

5. Did we already mention: HAVE FUN!!!

Walter (for Scott and Walter)

Ooops, you are right of course Claudia, Week 110 was "Symmetry and Patterns". Sorry!

It seems like my short / long term memory does not remember what happened a month previously, or maybe it's posting the challenge at six in the morning. At least it's slightly different this time. I feel it's too late to change at this point, so let's just go for it. As always, let me know any suggestions for the challenge you may have. :)

You have to fill in a few holes but I believe it works otherwise. :)

So the Sea Gull wants to know if you ever play "Angry Birds?"

Thank you all for the many positive comments on last weeks "Shot Through" photo. I will tell you that the apple was not actually inside the glass vase .... there was a bit of illusion involved :-)

# 114 x 2 - I couldn't decide, both taken at Lac Vassiviere, Haute Vienne. The first is part of a very modern art gallery.

Hope your weekends are progressing happily. Chris :)

Hoping this is appropriate for this weekend's subject! It's certainly a different form of symmetry!
Have a great week everyone! :D
