Thank you one and all for your nice comments. Once again I try to catch up on comments and posting. Working 12 hour shifts is not conducive to daily entries.

As I sat having breakfast this morning, I thought perhaps you would like to meet my "special" friend, Francesca. She joins a cast of other characters in the household... the Rubber Rat family, Lucy who sits in a chair by the front door, Uncle Buck who serves tea, "The Lady" in the bathroom and Clarissa, wearing her hat in the "cat bathroom". Obviously it does not take much to amuse me and I am quite sure I am a decorator's nightmare! It does make life interesting.

I wish I lived in a house with unlimited wall space for framing and hanging special "works of art". As it is my walls are filled with wonderful memories and quirky things that bring a smile to my face.

Any of us who are parents or grandparents have received special artwork such as this. To save these memories of our grandchildren, I have decided to photograph their artwork so they can enjoy them in retrospect in years to come...

Recently visited my favorite bookstore... Half-Price Books, and found another cookbook to add to my collection. We are always trying new recipes, so I tried this Indian Spinach Salad with a chutney and curry dressing. I tend to like salads with a sweet and sour dressing and this was delicious!
