Weekly Informal Challenge: Haiku or Poetry

Try to work on an image inspired by and/or including haiku or poetry (I think this was Stephanie's idea). If it is inspired by and not included as a layer in the image, please include the haiku or poetry in the description along with a link to the challenge here in the forum. HAVE FUN!

A few simple rules:

1. Themes are posted on Fridays to give you the weekend to come up with a FRESH shot for the challenge to post through Monday.

2. This is about interaction, learning, being challenged and having fun so... HAVE FUN!

3. The themes are specific but interpretations are broad. Stay on theme but PLEASE feel free to think outside the box.

4. Look at others' submissions, comment as moved to do so and offer supportive and constructive feedback. Please don't just post for exposure. Look and at least comment on some.

5. Did we already mention: HAVE FUN!!!

We can blame it on Stephanie! Just kidding, I know she'll kick my butt for that remark but I also know she knows I am just kidding. What could go wrong? I like this idea. I'll try to get something this weekend if I can. Look forward to everyone's pics!

I'm not sure I am doing this correctly!! I have never taken part in a challenge before! But wanted to give this one a try. I just posted a URL to a photo with a haiku. Tell me if I am doing something wrong-Yikes!!

Water...returning unto itself
Creating the concentric circles of energy expended in receiving the part back into the whole.
If only we could assimilate others as the water welcomes the droplets back to the whole.

Here is my entry for week 3; I was inspired by a Haiku poem from the book of Cat Haiku by Deborah Coates.
Much of the haiku is so funny and appropriate if you have cats.

There is a good reason I am not a poet, and my haiku proves it. :lol:

The Great Egret’s wings

are like fresh sheets

hung out upon a line;

its neck is a telescope;

beak as sharp and fine

as a fisherman’s gutting knife;

legs thin dark stalks,

sprung wires, steel skewers.
