Liverpool waterfront is a World Heritage Site, because of its collection of buildings. The main one shown here is the Liver building. The birds on the top of the towers are the Liver birds, they are 6 metres high.
The one on the right looking out across the water is the female one. She is said to be looking out for seamen returning home safely.
The one on the left looking inland is the male. He is said to be checking that the pubs are open.
