I'm not really sure where this should go on the forum, but if someone (a moderator maybe) can let me know or move it I'd be grateful.
If there are any UK photographers in the northwest of the country and want a great day out there is a stunning photographic exhibition at the Mersey Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool.
Open 10am to 5pm and entrance is free.
It features the work of John Thomson
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Thoms ... grapher%29 and is entitled 'China through the lens of John Thomson 1868-72'.
Some of the images can be seen here:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/pictu ... omson.htmlIt has a superb collection of images (almost 150) showing both street life and the lives of government officials as well as some super landscapes from that period.
The exhibition runs for a few weeks more and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in photography, in China or in history.
Plus of course Albert Dock and the Maritime Museum is a wonderful day out with loads of photographic opportunities.
