What is the Photo A Day?

I am a little stumped. I know it means users posting an image a day, but I would like to know what type of images? Is there a theme for each day? How do you designate(sp?) a gallery for that to show up in the list? Do you have to take the picture on that day? If there is any more info not listed in the questions please inform me or at least point me in the right direction if there is a page with that kind of info.

I just started an album at Fotki.com that is for PaD, but they do not have a place strictly for it like Pbase. I would like to start one, but have no idea what I am getting myself into....lol

Any help would be greatful

What are you getting yourself into, something that is rewarding, frustrating, fun, challenging, life changing, and most of all a different way of looking through the lens even when it is not in front of you.
