October Another Hunt

First of all, I would like to thank Faye for the great idea of the September Scavenger Hunt. I really enjoyed it. It brought me back to daily shots and I had more fun on pbase than for months. I also liked the idea of different items each day and that you always had the choice between two.

So for all, who feel the same (that the end of hunting would be a pity), and for all others too of course, here´s my suggestion for another hunt in October:

The hunt will be slightly different from the September hunt in two points:

1. There will be only abstract items (see the list down below).
This may be a little bit more difficult, but probably gives more room for variety, creativity and interpretation.

2. I will only give the pair of items for the first seven days. After four or five days I will hand it over to the one, whos entries I like most so far. He or she will suggest the pairs for the next six days and then hand it over to his (or her) follower for the next six days, the same way as I have done before.

Thus, as October has 31 days, we will have had items by five different pbasers in the end.

Here´s my list for the first seven days:

Oct 01: elegance or changes
Oct 02: intelligence/cleverness or bright side of life
Oct 03: passion or difference
Oct 04: youth power or communication
Oct 05: speed or concentration
Oct 06: illusion or history/tradition
Oct 07: fear(s) or entertainment

The items for the next six days (sent in by Barbara Heide):

Oct 08: satisfaction or darkness
Oct 09: doubt or simplicity
Oct 10: combination or fashion
Oct 11: solitude or timeless
Oct 12: chance or distance
Oct 13: horse power or weirdness

Items for the next day by me (as far as I get an answer by Laine):

Oct 14: competition or broken dreams

Items for the next five days (sent in by Laine):

Oct 15: fastfood or friends
Oct 16: swiftness or imperfection
Oct 17: authority or crowd
Oct 18: damage or growth
Oct 19: trinkets or deserted

Items for the next six days (sent in by Mairead):

Oct 20: urban or rural
Oct 21: at work or at play
Oct 22: antiquity/old age or modernism/youth
Oct 23: inspiration or abundance
Oct 24: faith or materialism
Oct 25: culture/arts or sport

Items for the last six days (sent in by Cindi):

Oct 26: looking back or moving forward

Oct 27: intimacy or seclusion

Oct 28: hope or helplessness

Oct 29: strength or weakness

Oct 30: desires or regrets

Oct 31: ghoulish strangeness or holiday silliness

Well, that´s all. Hope you liked it and happy hunting for the rest of the month!

Please post a link to your photos in this thread.

I've really enjoyed the September hunt, although it's not been easy some days and I've not been happy with some of my shots. Many thanks to Faye for her challenges.

I was going to do a normal PaD for October, but now I've read this and am intrigued. My immediate reaction is "hmm, more thought required to create a representation of an abstract idea....that's going to be hard". But isn't the point to challenge ourselves! So I'll give it a go and try and find my creative thought processes

I too have enjoyed the September hunt - thanks to Faye. This sounds fun too but
I did sometimes find it hard to keep up between work and family committments and
the darkening evenings so I'll probably do my 'hunting' in batches if that's ok.

Of course it´s ok. Challenges shouldn´t become a duty but remain fun. So I´m glad, if you join in as you like and can.

I am in too! Now if only I could just get caught up with the current one :) It's been great though... probably the only month all year my PAD gallery has actually had a picture a day! I like the challenge :)

I'm in...and will try harder to participate with the commenting.
September kind of got away on me.
